Guide to Veil Lengths

*Blushers (the part that falls over the face) will vary in length, depending on the total veil length, and are 25 to 30” long. They are considered the first tier in a multiple tier veil.

Different stores will use different lengths for each category. What’s more important, is where the veil falls along your body and behind you, onto the floor. Keep your height in mind and how much of your dress trails along the floor. Here is a list of approximate lengths for each type.

Cathedral 108 to 118”

Church 99”

Chapel 90”

Floor 70 to 79”

Ballet 60”

Fingertip 48”

Waist 35”

Elbow 28”

Birdcage 4 to 9”

Make sure you have someone help you measure where you’d like the veil to fall against your dress and how far behind you, before you order.

The veil length measurement is taken from the attachment site (such as the included clip or comb) to the bottom of the veil.

If the veil doesn’t have a barrette or comb, the veil length is simply the top to bottom of the veil.

For Juliet Cap veils, it’s from the back of the cap to the bottom of the veil.
